The Downside of Chasing The Upside
Every waking moment some people forego family, balance and sanity in search of the perfect life, if it even exists. They forget the relationships that made them and the people who believed in them while they frantically scrambled up the step stool to where they imagined success was waiting.
In the scrambling, they missed the important teachings of things like what does a soul require to feel fulfilled, what guides the heart of a man or a women for them to feel like they matter.
We forget to consult our souls about what’s really important.
We focus on getting instead of being, having instead of giving and liking instead of loving.
If we could only take a moment and go to a quiet place and just breathe, and really think about the feeling that, yes, we really do matter, no matter how many degrees we have or how much money we have in our bank account and that being always in “Prove myself mode” creates stress and anxiety that, sooner or later will take us down a few rungs of the ladder.
Young people, shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help from someone who’s been where they have chosen to go because, there’s a lot to learn they could ask about instead of having to reinvent.
Older people, make time to spend with youth, to remember what you once had and may have still and to discover that you are making a difference. Be open with your knowledge.
But whatever you choose to do, make sure you take time to be thankful for what you have now and will have in the future.
Don’t spend your life running when you could be growing.
It’ll keep you humble… and successful and appreciated.
Make an Impact!
A Bit about me…
My vision is quite simple: to make an impact on the lives of the people who have been entrusted to me: You (for reading this article), my family and my clients.
I coach people. Direct, practical, innovative, meaningful.I coach for excellence.I love what I do… and so do my clients.
Over the years I’ve noticed that business coaching that was supposed to make us stronger actually took away our confidence and made us doubt ourselves. Confidence and people skills aren’t developed just by measuring and planning everything, they grow through doing and learning from experience and by taking risks. People want to make a difference. Build teams. Be better understood. Live more confidently.
I founded IBC Impact Business Communication Inc. to create a world where business people communicate and act with confidence to create better worlds for themselves. Worlds where they feel powerful and free to express themselves. Worlds where something as simple as conversation creates energy, understanding and impact. Worlds so exquisite, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
